RCMP

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is the Canadian national police service and an agency of the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada.

Because the City of Yorkton is a major service centre for Eastern Saskatchewan and Western Manitoba, the RCMP presence in Yorkton is one of the largest in the province. The RCMP has both a City as well as a Rural detachment located within the City.

RCMP Members are involved in school activities through a School Liaison program, and the City detachment sponsors a Community Cadet Program. The RCMP is also involved with a very active Citizens on Patrol organization within the City.
