Due to age of the existing water treatment facilities, the City of Yorkton is currently upgrading its water treatment capabilities.  At present, we have completed the construction of a reservoir and presently are completing the Water Treatment Facility.  Once complete we will be designing and constructing Backwash retention ponds and upgrading #4 Water Treatment Plant to a pumping station.  We will also be decommishining our existing Water Treatment Plants. Construction of the water treatment facility is to be completed in fall of 2010.

We will be updating this page with additional information regarding the water system expansion.

Construction of the new Water Treatment facility began in the fall of 2005 with the construction of the reservoir and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2010
