Due to age of the existing water treatment facilities, the City of Yorkton is currently upgrading its water treatment capabilities.  Construction began in the fall of 2005.  To date, we have completed the construction of a reservoir, Water Treatment Plant structure and the treatment process areas.  The plant has been the distribution source for treated water to the City of Yorkton since December, 2010.  Work continues on the backwash retention pond system and upgrades at the former Water Treatment Plant #4 to a pumping station.  Decommissioning of the West Broadway and Park Street Water Treatment Plants were completed in 2011. Construction of the water treatment facility is expected to be completed in early spring of 2013.
