Average Annual Daily Traffic (AADT) is the average traffic volume on any given day throughout the year; this representation incorporates fluctuations in traffic volume throughout the various months of the year.

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure conducts yearly traffic counts on all major highways in Saskatchewan at various locations, including the perimeter of all cities.  In 2010 The City of Yorkton commissioned Stantec Consulting Ltd. to prepare a Transportation Master Plan update.  As part of the update, Stantec conducted traffic counts at major intersections and roadways in Yorkton. Similarly The City of Yorkton has been conducting traffic counts in areas of concern yearly.  For the purposes of an accurate representation of the current traffic volume in Yorkton, data has not been used that is more than ten years old.
