Jerome Niezgoda

My wife Barb and I moved to Yorkton in 1991 with three Daughters; our fourth was born here. She is currently in Grade 11 at Sacred Heart High School. All of our girls attended St. Alphonsus School and the three oldest are graduates of SHHS.

I am currently employed as an Area Manager for Regional Housing Operations – Southeast. Housing has been my career since 1984 and has provided me with numerous opportunities for learning, growth and serving people.

We are members of St. Gerard’s Parish, involved in various ministries since being welcomed into the parish family. I am a member of the Knights of Columbus, Yorkton Council #2031.

We did not know, understand nor appreciate the gift of Catholic education until our children’s experiences in Catholic schools in Humboldt, Prince Albert and Yorkton.

Through the encouragement of former Board members, I became a Board member of the Yorkton Catholic School Division in 2000.  I have served as Chairperson since amalgamation in 2005.

I am an Executive Member of the Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association since 2005 and Vice-President for the past two years.

Through my work with Catholic School Board colleagues locally and across the province, I have come to a much deeper understanding and appreciation of Catholic Education. I have also come to see the challenges and the need for committed Catholic leadership to ensure the future of Catholic Education.

We have committed personnel in our division providing excellent educational programming permeated with the teachings of our Catholic Faith. We have dedicated Board members providing governance and vision to Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools.

I am proud to be a Board member of CTTCS and would be privileged to continue to serve. I ask for your consideration and vote on October 28th.
